First and foremost, please remember we have our Open House TOMORROW NIGHT starting at 6 PM! Please check the school's website for more details. I hope to see everyone come by to hear all about my classroom and Sedalia Park this year! http://www.cobbk12.org/SedaliaPark/
We have officially made it to our second week of school! Last week, we focused mainly on our expectations in school, and getting to know our classmates. This week, we are diving straight in with the curriculum! Here is a break-down of what we are learning this week:
Science- Weather. Types of weather and how to graph the weather outside each day. Phonics- We are working on our handwriting, and sorting pictures based on their beginning sounds. Writing- We are learning the expectations of the writing prompt paper we will be using throughout the year. Reading- We are establishing our expectations and routines for our Guided Reading Groups for the rest of the year. Math- We are continuing to work on, and develop, our basic number sense and how we can represent various numbers.
Other fun things we have planned for this week is our orientation to the Learning Commons so we can start doing hands-on activities with Ms. Holcombe, as well as a 1st grade assembly later this week to hear from our administration about all the expectations we have for our first graders this year!
I am always open to communication with parents for any reason. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or anything else you would like to contact me about, feel free to reach me by email! email@example.com
